Understand the Rise of the JAMstack
The term “JAMstack” has been buzzing around the web development community for a while now. But what exactly is it? And more importantly, why should you care?
JAMstack is a web development architecture using JavaScript, APIs, and Markup.
However, the meaning of this term has changed over time. What it means today is much different from how people thought or what they initially understood when the term first came into use.
Jamstack is not about a specific technology. It is a modern web development architecture that emphasizes the use of CDNs and decoupling services. - Denis Kostrzewa from Bejamas
When a tech-savvy audience hears about JAMstack, the room fills with wonder, and everything seems spectacular and comprehensible. However, more often than not, you will be confronted with a corporate executive who requires some education about JAMstack and its advantages over, say, conventional web development.
Why JAMstack:
Security
Scale
Performance
Maintainability
Portability
Developer Experience
Although JAMstack can help you create better websites and get ahead you from the competition, just like any technology, it has limitations as well:
→ JAMstack is not very beginner-friendly
→ Complexity and longer build times
You can learn more about JAMstack from these resources:
