An Introduction to Content Federation
When most people think of content management, they think of a single system used to manage all the content on their website. However, there are alternative methods for managing content that can be just as effective.
One such method is content federation - a practice that involves consolidating all of your company's content into a single repository. This allows for streamlined access and better organization across all channels.
In this issue of Experience Stack Newsletter, we will explore what content federation is and how it can benefit your organization.
What is Content Federation
Content Federation is the ability to bring data together from multiple sources and backends via API, into a single repository without migrating the content or having multiple versions of it. In common experience architectures, a federated content hub serves as the âaggregation layerâ.
With content federation, when data changes in an external source, the other systems are automatically updated to reflect those changes. This helps make sure that the end-user always has the most up-to-date information.
Key Benefits of Content Federation
As the amount of content on the internet has exploded, so too has the need for effective ways to manage and organize it all. Content federation offers a number of key benefits for businesses, including
having the ability to use real-time data
making it easier to use APIs
maintaining data integrity
preventing content silos
